What is an Injury Screening?

So… what exactly is an “injury screening”?

An injury screening is a free face-to-face assessment with one of our practitioners. These are relatively short (10-20 minutes) exams in which our clinical team’s goal is to find out why you hurt and discuss what we think we can do to help. There does not need to be an acute injury or surgical history to take advantage of a free injury screen—many people just want to know what they can do to “feel better” and how chiropractic care or physical therapy may help them do so. We use the word “injury” to mean anything that is keeping you from functioning at 100 percent.

Knowledge is power

By reviewing mild past injuries or what you may think are unrelated questions, we can begin to paint a picture of your pain or discomfort and other health challenges. This allows us to begin creating a plan to help you get back to living your best life. We will also identify any red flags (i.e., difficulty bearing weight, unknown origin of pain, night pain, unexplained weight loss, etc.) to determine if you are safe to start physical therapy or chiropractic care, or if you need to be sent to a primary medical practitioner or other specialists.
